About Us
School History
Due to the growing demand of helicopter flight training and the lack of rotorcraft schools in Alaska, Alyeska Helicopters opened their doors in the spring of 2004 as Alaska’s only helicopter flight school. Alyeska Helicopters experienced rapid increase in student numbers and therefore tripled the staff in the first year of operation. We look forward to expanding even further in years to come.
Alyeska Helicopters is also proud to present a clean Federal Aviation Administration record with no accidents, incidents or violations.
Institutional Philosophy
At Alyeska Helicopters our goal is to specialize in personalized flight instruction tailored to the individual needs of our students. To train to the highest level and to insure each student carries forth an uncompromised dedication to safety. We are committed to producing highly competent, well-trained pilots for personal leisure or to enter the aviation community and competitive job market of the industry. Training in Alaska provides our students with extra credits giving them skill in mountain, rough terrain and adverse weather flying.
Instructional Facilities
The office, flight and ground training facilities are located at the Birchwood Airport, Birchwood, AK. The school consists of primary flight instructors Marcus Roulet, Corey Konik, and Dusty Little, a small but efficient ground school teaching area, and thousands of square miles of beautiful Alaskan sky to conduct our flight training. Maintenance is provided by Alpine Air, a Robinson Helicopter Authorized Dealer & Service Center.
